Verkerke Living is a passionate furniture making company that gives full attention to the customer through honest craftsmanship. 10 years ago, Kees Verkerke started working with scaffolding wood; in the meantime a shift has taken place to expertise in the field of old wood for a beautiful lived-in look of furniture and interiors. At Verkerke Living, we always think along with the client, in order to create the best customized solutions.

"As a little man, I came home from elementary school and often went straight to my father's barn. He always kept various pieces of wood here, which he put between the beams in the barn. And I would make little boats out of them! This passion for working with wood has never disappeared and eventually I was able to make my work out of it. Working from your passion, I can recommend that to everyone. Verkerke Living has grown from a barn into a 600-square-meter warehouse with a workshop and showroom. As a teacher, I regularly receive passionate, enthusiastic students here.

I always try to capture exactly the feeling of the client in a final product. I regularly sit down with a customer to go over his or her specific needs: What taste does the customer have? What is technically feasible? Everything has to be right. If, for example, someone asks for a custom-made cupboard, we first map out together what -old- wood type(s) we are going to use, what functionality the cupboard must have and what styling is preferred. From sketches to final execution, everything is done in consultation."
